This business was created out of a need for my own kids. I am a mom of three and have a background in elementary education. I wanted to make sure that my children were prepped and ready for school… but I also have a passion for crafting! I put the two together and started making resin alphabet and laser-cut items for my kids. And then, my friends and neighbors wanted them, too!

The name "Thoughtful Turtle" came from a few of my loves. When I taught elementary school, my favorite unit to teach was sea turtles. We live in North Carolina and every year when we visit the beach, the sea turtles are busy laying their eggs. One of my bucket list items is to see a sea turtle nest "boil"— this is when the hatchlings dig and make their way out of the sandy nest. Turtles also have an impressive lifespan and in that time, they can learn a lot. Sea turtles return to the spot where they were born and are very thoughtful about where they make their nests. Being a lifelong learner myself, I choose to be a thoughtful turtle that can create things for my community! Plus, I can't be the only person that enjoys a bit of alliteration.
